Empowering the community is the key to sustain the development process. One of the main pillars of empowerment is economic/livelihood sustainability. Our PAD aims at economic sustainability of the target community by providing knowledge, skill/training, demonstration and backup support.

The Self-Help Group is the main tool for development. In fact this lead one to be aware of his/her present status and opt for betterment of his/her future. The SHG movement is being taken place in the area and now the community is eager and open to take up other livelihood options.

Formation and promotion of disaster management committee is another strategy to face the natural and other calamities. The participatory method to develop cop up mechanism in flood and drought are now becoming major area of activities for PAD after working with European Commission (ECHO), German Agro Action, ActionAid and Terre des hommes Germany”. in the flood relief and rehabilitation Project.

Promote literacy through formal and non-formal,literacy campaigns and night school for illiterates education .PAD also facilitates and supports establishing of MTB MLE language schools, community run schools and conducts remedial and coaching classes for children and senior students in backward areas. In order to promote education effectively, PAD organizes awareness campaigns, career guidance programmes, takes students for exposure and had also formed and is still promoting  Students Club at different places.

Other important task is to empower SHGs/DMCs to get government facilities through Local governance like Gram Panchayat ,Mising Autonomous Council ,MLA & MP Development fund .The Organisation always encourages the SHG Members to get funds from the above institutions and sources for their development.

Health camps are one of most important program conducted by PAD in the interior and flood affected villages and tea gardens. Health camps are now usually organized throughout the year. Each year PAD organizes more than 12 free Health and Referral Camps in the remote and flood affected villages. Depending  on the availability of Emergency Fund, medical assistance are also being provided to very poor children and adults of the Development Area.

PAD had started to work on various Rights based issues, including Child Rights, Women Rights, Labour Rights and Land Rights.

To ensure better environment for the overall growth, care and protection of children. To empower, capacitate and strengthen the youths for a better society. Empower Women for a just society.

Socio-economic development through SHG/DMC by practices of sustainable livestock management, Disaster management and improved agriculture development. Also promote formal and informal education.

The improvement in economic status is a must for a human being to have dignified living standard. But this effort must come from the community itself. All this while various Charity organizations tried their best and raised the living standard of the poor but with the end of their charity projects, the standard which they had raised was back to the earlier or worst standard. PAD thus focuses on participatory approach and making people self-reliant.

We thank all the well-wishers, supporters, donors, and organizations that guided, supported and collaborated with PAD. We are indebted to Rev. Fr. Davish Arricatt (Previous Director, Bosco Reach out, Ullubari Guwahati) for his invaluable guidance and Support.

We are ever grateful to Mr. Paul Lokho (Regional Manager, IGSSS .NE) We are thankful to Andheri Hilfe Bonn Germany, ActionAid, Centre for Microfinance and Livelihood(CML), ECHO and Terre des hommes Germany for their support and opportunities to serve the society in a better and a more meaningful way.
